Zuleika Murat
Art Historian | SenSArt Focus on Italy and England
Zuleika Murat is Associate Professor of History of Medieval Art at the University of Padova, where she obtained her PhD in Medieval Art History (2013). She has then been the recipient of Postdoctoral Research Fellowships from the University of Warwick, UK (2013-2014), and the University of Padova (2014-2016); she was also appointed Teaching Assistant at Birkbeck University of London (2015; 2018). Zuleika was subsequently the Principal Investigator of a two-year multidisciplinary research project at the University of Padova (2018-2020).
In 2020 she has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant for the project SenSArt (2021-2026).
Her previous research combined multidisciplinary methods and tools, and focused on sacred topography, church interiors as social construction, gender-related issues, relics and devotion, visual and material culture in Western Christianity.
