Sara Carreño
Before joining SenSArt in September 2021, she completed her PhD in Medieval Studies (2020) at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela after obtaining a BA in Art History (2013) and a MA in European Medieval Studies (2014). She was Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Art History at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with a PhD Fellowship funded by Xunta de Galicia (2016-2019). She has carried out research stays at the Warburg Institute (University of London, 2015), the Instituto de Estudos Medievais (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 2017), the Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar “Cultura, Espaço e Memória” (Universidade do Porto, 2020), and the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (2021).
Her previous research focused on the sculptural images of the Crucified Christ in 14th-century Galicia (NW Iberian Peninsula). Her main research interests are on Image Theory and Image Reception, and she has recently started approaching the field of Neuro-Humanities.
