Musicologist

Before joining SIDME in March 2023, he obtained a Ph.D. in Musicology at the Universität Wien/Vienna (2022). In his PhD thesis he analysed the context, production process, liturgical and musical content as well as the notation of a printed antiphonary (Vienna, 1519). He completed Master’s degrees in Musicology at the Università di Pavia, specialising in medieval music. His collaborations include the University of Pavia and the Austrian Academy of Science. Since 2019, he has been teaching at the Institute of Musicology at the University of Vienna. He has published works on manuscripts and fragments of plainchant, printed liturgical-musical books, local and regional traditions in liturgical music, saints’ offices, and various typologies of cantus fractus (14th–18th century). In his latest article, he examined the output of early music performers on the TikTok platform.
