Before joining SenSArt in May 2023, he completed his PhD in medieval history at the University of Groningen (2021), following a BA in History (2013) and a MA in Classical, Medieval and Renaissance Studies (2015). He has subsequently worked on projects exploring the topography of religious knowledge transfer in the late medieval city (Hidden Deventer, 2020), and digitally reconstructing communal reading experiences involving both laypeople and religious professionals (Broeders3D, 2022).
His previous research focused on the communication of religious knowledge, specifically looking at the informal reading of religious texts between the Brothers of the Common Life and laypeople visiting their houses in the 15 th century Low Countries.
