The first seminar in the new SenSArt Seminars cycle for the academic year 2025–2026 explores the theme of Netherlandish illuminated manuscripts, with a focus on their production, audience, and devotional experience.
The seminar will feature presentations by Anne Margreet As-Vijvers (Senior Curator of Medieval Manuscript Illumination, RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History), “Buying a Book of One’s Own in Fifteenth-Century Leiden”, and Vittorio Frighetto (University of Padua), “The Colours of Emotion: The Cognitive Agency of a Dutch Late Medieval Prayer Book (MS BPL 224, Leiden, Universiteitsbibliotheek)”.
It will take place in Sala Sartori, Palazzo Liviano (Padua), on 8 April, starting at 3:00 PM.
